AZAHAR Cambodia Instructors

AZAHAR Foundation has organized a Teacher Training in 2017, allowing 9 people to attend and get a 200 hours courses.
8 among the students got their certificate and now are able to teach yoga in Khmer and English, with knowledges related to Asian anatomy.
Updates and Immersions are also scheduled throughout the year to improve the level of our teachers.

PANHA Thyna
​
Thyna is a welcoming and loving soul. She naturally loves to teach yoga and share it with the world. Ready to help those who want to be helped by her challenging yet rewarding classes. A trained and well-practiced professional yoga teacher at AZAHAR Cambodia and holds both a 200-hour certification called “Yoga Soul Body fit” and a 30-hour Fly Fit yoga certification from the UK Yoga Alliance. In Jan of 2022, she completed her 300-hour certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training. AZAHAR Foundation has sponsored Thyna since 2017. She has learned different kinds of yoga such as Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa as well as attending AZAHAR’s 2-year Peace Program. Her classes focus on breathing and movement flow from one pose to another, as well as workouts and conditioning to improve one’s physical and mental strength. She incorporates meditation and relaxation in order to calm one’s mind and nurture one’s soul. Thyna also chants mantras in Sanskrit with the harmonium (traditional Indian instrument) to engage the spirit in a dance.

​As well as a dedicated yoga practitioner, she’s also a Private Khmer language teacher for both Cambodian and non-Cambodian students. Currently, she is consulting the UK-based “What3words” company focusing on translating the Khmer Language.

KOEM Nith
Nith was introduced to yoga through the program initiated by the AZAHAR Foundation in 2015. He completed a 200h teacher training by Yoga Soul Body Fit that was sponsored by the AZAHAR Foundation and is acknowledged by the UK Yoga Alliance in 2017. Since then he has taught basically at the AZAHR’s studio in Phnom Penh, gyms and NGOs in Vinyasa flow. Through practicing, learning and teaching in the last few years especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, he understood the roles of yoga and passionate to make more impact to communities. He pursued his journey through joining the 300h JTT which supported by the Jivamukti Global and Yogeswari in 2021. This is such huge inspiration and motivation for him and be able to bring the method to more beings. Therefore, he intends to share this inspiration and motivation within his community and for a better and peaceful environment. Attend his classes, and you will understand more about your amazing body and your beautiful mind. Nith’s classes are challenging and emphasize how to keep your body safe.

NON Sreynoch
Ms. Non Sreynoch, 29 years old, certifies yoga teacher at AZAHAR Cambodia studio in Phnom Penh. Her teaching style brings together with the elements of strength, flexibility and balancing, encouraging to her students to break limitation on the mat. She began her yoga practice since 2014 and she found the spiritual and mental benefit from that practice such pranayama, asana and meditation. She thinks yoga is not only excises but yoga has benefit more than she thinks. she wants to give healthy to people in Cambodia and make they know benefit about yoga specially yoga made them to healthy, have good feel, made them full body slim and thin looks like lovely one more it made our strong body.  She is now a qualifies yoga teacher with 200hrs Yoga Teacher Training, that was supported by AZAHAR Foundation.  during COVID-19 she have a chance to join 300h  JTT Jivamukti  which support by Jivamukti Global and Yogeswari in 2021 she more understanding and inspiration to being rise her life from the darkest  place to liberation while she living    and being to apply yoga to daily life share  the love and   peace to the world.

KHUN Raty
Raty KHUN is an IT & Designer at AZAHAR Cambodia and a 300-hour certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. She also holds a 200-hour certification and Fly Fit yoga certification from Yoga Soul Body Fit, recognized by the UK Yoga Alliance. She has attended several intensive yoga retreats offered by Yogeswari & Cat Alip and has also attended AZAHAR’s 2-year Peace Program. During the pandemic, she also did her training in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga from Yoga com Gracia, Spain. She can teach you how to master many asanas by sharpening your awareness. In the process, your mind will also become peaceful.

 NGET Srey Neang
She has been practicing yoga in 2014, follow by daily class practices, immersion workshop, yoga retreats participated and 200 hrs Yoga Teacher Training and capacity building on 38 hours of Fly Fit yoga which were supported by AZAHAR Foundation. Her first interest with Yoga practice is about the stress releasing and give benefit such as good health and comfortable.

​VUTHY Victory
Victory has been inspired and been directly involved in peacebuilding and development work in Cambodia since in college. She believes that peace begins from within – only inner peace makes outer peace realize. Since she’s found yoga and meditation, it has deepened her belief and nurtured peace, metta, and compassion from within. In addition to be a vinyasa yoga teacher, she has also become a certified 300-hour Jivamukti Yoga teacher. She has also completed a Trauma Sensitive Yoga training. She is grateful that her spiritual path, professional path, and intellectual path are synchronizing, and now she is pursuing her master degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. She hopes to serve and inspires others to share similar experiences. Let’s be the change agent for peace and serve!

​PUTHCHAN Chhorvy
Chhorvy is a high school student at Chea Sim Chom Reon Rath Hight School. She has been volunteered of teaching skateboarding to kids at Skateistan NGO. She started practice yoga since 2017 and she completed 100hr Yoga Teacher Training at AZAHAR Cambodia. She really happy when she understand about yoga and she get benefit from yoga such as meditation, pranayama, and asana. She wants to see young people practice and get benefit from yoga like her.

​MENG Sophanmai
Met Yogeswari in 2008, while growing up at an orphanage center in Phnom Penh. A few years later, she started on her yoga journey and completed the 200-hour teacher training offered by AZAHAR in 2019. She now works as a receptionist and as a teacher at the AZAHAR Center in Phnom Penh. Yoga has made her life more meaningful, and she hopes that she can support a better quality of life for her students.

Thona is graduated at Asia Euro University as Information Technology. She has been practice yoga since 2016. She has been completed yoga teacher training 100 hours at AZAHAR Center. Now she is a junior yoga instructor at AZAHAR center. She like yoga because yoga is make her feel relax and calm down.

​SIEN Kongrathana
Rathana was born in Kompong Speu Province. She is graduated bachelor’s degree of Computer Science in 2017 at Pannasastra University of Cambodia. Nowadays, she is working at Smart Axiata Co., Ltd. Besides working, she spend my weekend to join yoga teacher training course at AZAHAR Cambodia in Phnom Penh. Moreover, sometimes she have spent her weekend to cook and share the vegan food to the street people around Phnom Penh city for giving chance to those people with the new taste without meet for promoting peace. Furthermore, she has joint social work as the project coordinator at Takeo province, which sponsor by AZAHAR Cambodia to provide Yoga, English, and many other fields to push those young people to be good people in their society. OUK Sreynak
Sreynak was born in Phnom Penh She is graduated bachelor’s degree of Accounting in 2018 at Pannasastra University of Cambodia. Nowadays, she work at Hotel Cambodian Phnom Penh. Besides working, she spend my weekend to join yoga teacher training course at AZAHAR Cambodia in Phnom Penh. And she became Teacher Yoga in 2019. Moreover, sometimes she have spent her weekend to cook and share the vegan food to the street people around Phnom Penh city for giving chance to those people with the new taste without meet for promoting peace. CHAB Ponleu
Since 2018, he started to learn and understand about what is the yoga and yoga’s benefit as he never know it before. Sometime he think that it was wasted his time to focus on full time job and a lot of pressure to him during the training. However, there is not like what he think, just he need to take time to understand in deep of the meaning and patient to keep practice it. Until now if he compare himself before it is so much difference. At the same time he saw and obtained a lot of benefit from it. Furthermore based on his experience, he had applied the yoga practice to reflect with his daily life and all the situation was happened. Hence, He said “It is really affected to our communication and best solutions to sole any problem in face. Therefore, there is the good message to apply it ,while yoga is not only posture or asana but yoga is what you did/practiced  with your awareness, consciousness , calmness, peaceful and you know yourself that you are ready to do it without interrupted anybody around you”.
Lastly, the reason that he would like to keep doing and share yoga to the students or people in the society  because he is  happy to see their smile with the peaceful from the beginning to the ended of the classes.

NORT Sokhom
Sokhom Nort graduated High school in 2017 at 28 MAKARA high school. Then she got scholarship in PEPY empowering Youth for one year about English, Computer and soft skills. It includes Time management, leadership, Critical thinking, and Project management. After that she continues electricity at Vocational Training school. She love to join social work like volunteer to plant trees, workshop and also cycling.

​MEK Sreylin
MEK Sreylin is a yoga teacher of AZAHAR FOUNDATION Cambodia center. She spends her weekend to join peace program with AZAHAR FOUNDATION and yoga teacher training course. She has been finished 100hrs and 200hrs of teacher training and nowadays she teach Vinyasa flow beginner and Mix-level.

VATH Soveth
Graduated from Pannashastra University, Phnom Penh, in International Relations. She works as a Project Officer and Yoga Teacher at AZAHAR in Phnom Penh. She has completed a 100-hour Fundamental Yoga, 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and 30-hour focus on Mixed-Level training, at AZAHAR Foundation and is deeply committed to in AZAHAR’s outreach programs in rural areas of Cambodia. Since she became a yoga teacher, she is gratitudes to AZAHAR Foundation for free providing yoga skill to her. Because of this skill, she could remove the obstacle in life that makes her to who she really is. Namaste!

​KOEM Mesa
Mesa has been practice yoga since 2016, then she attended in one year Peace Program, and Yoga Teacher Training (100hours) at AZAHAR Center which is supported by AZAHAR Cambodia. Now she is a junior yoga instructor at AZAHAR Center. Practice yoga is making mind fresh and relax, and also can restore our body with positive energy.

​SENG Porchhay
Meditation
Seng Porchhay has graduated from Asian Peacebuilders Scholarship program with an MA in Environment, Development, and Peace, with specialization in Sustainable Resource Management at the University for Peace in Costa Rica and an MA in Political Science at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. Before that, he had 2 years experience working with World Peace Initiative Foundation (WPI) in Thailand as a regional coordinator and meditation trainer. He was a peace coach on the online meditation platform called peacerevolution.net, a mentor during international meditation trainings, and he had conducted many meditation workshops in Southeast Asia for WPI. Last but not least, He had been a buddhist monk for a short period of time to advance his mediation learning.

​HEM Chetra
Ancient Khmer Fighting
CHETRA is a coach of Bokator (Khmer Fighting) and Stunts trainer. He learnt Bokator since 2012 and he also got many gold medals in 2013 and 2016. He became a coach in 2016 and he open Bokator Training Club in 2020. Last but not least, he teaches Bokator in AZAHAR Cambodia Center since 2019.

Hip Hop Dancing
King is a dance teacher at AZAHAR Cambodia center in Phnom Penh. He has experience for 8 years about dancing with Japanese teacher in Siem Reap. He used to join Dance competition in Thailand.
